Long story short: Venue change to Carleton Curling Club, 115 Rodney Street West, $15 day pass/$20 day pass/$20 vendor table, Cosplay Party Friday moved to Sept 5 6-9PM at Heroes’ Beacon.

Manager change at SJFPL and they’re not really up to have a weekend event for this Sept, maybe one day events in the future. Not sure what that does to future Fog City Comicon Events.

SO…

this forced a venue change that ISN’T going to cost a crapton of money as IR has always been a smaller, more intimate, not-for-profit event. We had hoped for a free venue at SJFPL so free to you our players, BUT with this last minute change, we had to move to a venue with a reasonable cost and location.

To remain not-for-profit means to break even so if we have to pay for an event, we have to charge admittance AND IR has NEVER been about gouging our players or vendors so much so that we’ve kept the door fee flatlined at $20 for a weekend pass for over 20 years. This gives us site coverage, and a bit more to get more goodies for swag and Play to Win.

In addition, to support our local game stores, Heroes’ Beacon will be hosting the Cosplay Party Friday Sept 5, 6-9PM (the night before the event) with photographer Al Gagnon and a door fee of $5 for snacks and party stuff (sez Serena)

So in true Canadian style, sorry about the updated location and door fees.
