IR#26: 25 Years Later… – MTG Draft Booster Draft!

Impossible Realities #26: 25 Years Later... Sept 12-13, 2026 Carleton Curling Club MAGIC THE GATHERING BOOSTER DRAFT! GM: Steve Henderson Booster Draft (or just "Draft") is like Sealed Deck, with the additional preliminary step of drafting the cards. The players—usually eight sitting in a circle—each open a booster pack, pick one card, and pass the pack to the next player, who picks one card and continues to pass it along. Eventually, all of the cards are picked and the players repeat the process with a total of three booster packs. At the end, players will have 42 cards (not counting basic lands) with which to build a 40-card deck. Just like Sealed Deck, players may add any number of basic lands to their deck. Limited to 12 players. Additional Charges apply (Saturday 6:00 PM) Register at https://warhorn.net/.../impossible.../schedule/agenda or scan the QR below

IR#26: 25 Years Later… – Megacivilization All Day Tournament Saturday!

IR#26; 25 Years Later... Sept 12-13, 2026 Carleton Curling Club Megacivilization All Day Tournament Saturday! GM: Dana Betts Mega Civilization, a huge version of the legendary development game Civilization, is a game of skill for 5 to 9 players covering the historical development of ancient civilizations from just after the last Ice Age to the dawn of the new era at the end of the Iron Age — a time span of almost 8,000 years. The player who most effectively balances these various goals will achieve the best scores and win. (East/West TBA at event... [...]

Impossible Realities: 25 Years Later

Hey all! Yes you read that right. Impossible Realities Gaming and Cosplay Convention has been around for TWENTY FIVE YEARS. It all started when Dana Betts, Eric Merzetti, Matt Mazerolle and Melissa Woodcock dreamt up the idea for a not-for-profit sponsored gaming focused event to support all the regional gaming stores and other cons, with a smaller more intimate event in mind to keep venue costs to a minimum, which in turn meant the door cost stayed low for the players. All games were run BY volunteer gamers FOR gamers. Our numbers over the years have gone up and down, and players have grown up, moved on, had kids, got their degrees, and now their kids are coming to play. Execs have rotated in and out, but our passion remained. While we aren't big and flashy and having hundreds or thousands of visitors, our small format meant we could keep doing this without worries, and PLAY GAMES with prizes and game giveaways from our sponsors.
